19-year-old found dead in Morrisville after missing person report

Morrisville Police Department has concluded that Semar Barbour, a 19-year-old from Durham whose body was discovered in his car on November 13, was murdered elsewhere, and his body was afterward dumped in Morrisville.

Barbour was reported missing on October 23, and his body was found in the backseat of his car on November 13. The Morrisville Police Department has determined that Barbour was not killed in Morrisville, but rather in another location.

Police responded to a call Nov.13, at 1:49 p.m. about a person in a vehicle who appeared to be sleeping in the vehicle's back seat in the 300 block of Walnut Woods Drive.

The vehicle was a burgundy 2011 Chrysler 200 with a North Carolina license plate.

When first responders got to the scene, they found a man in the car who was dead.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the vehicle was registered to Barbour, who was reported missing to the Durham Police Department on Oct. 23.

The victim inside of the vehicle was later identified as Barbour.

Barbour had been shot multiple times. The vehicle appears to have been parked at this location since at least the morning of Oct. 24.

He was last known to be in Durham on the afternoon of Oct. 23.

This is an active investigation.
